Altered TagsPosted May 21 2016
Hi there, popping in to share some altered tags using the Distress Crayons, I decided to start small as I had no clue what to do with these. And having never used them before i was pleased at how easy to use they were, and so many different ways to use them!
On my tag HAPPY I gessoed the tag to prepare the surface for getting wet, allowed it to dry and then using clear gloss gel medium I stencilled some spots onto it and dried the whole tag thoroughly with my trusty heat tool.
Next I used a aqua brush and wet the crayon which i had rubbed onto my silicone mat and then painted the green and blue colours randomly, because the dots are glossy it gave a relief effect while the background had a soft water colour effect.
I then smeared some crayon onto my finger and rubbed it directly onto random dots to make them pop (and try something else with them!)
Next it was time to embellish, I stuck a quote I had in my stash and then added a chipboard "Happy" title painted black. It seemed a little plain so I also added a metal butterfly which I had painted with Gesso and then again rubbed crayon onto it with my finger. A little bit of stamping and some doodling with a gel pen and I was done! not bad considering I had no idea what I was doing! They really are that easy to use
Thanks for stopping by!
