Making a Look A Like Cut File

Posted June 06 2016

Today i'm here to share an inexpensive way to have a cut file design without the cost by doing it yourself. I had a lot of fun doing this technique and it works really well with either pattern paper or cardstock. The added vellum underneath makes it visually presentable.

I have used the Pink Fresh Paper range for my layout which is very colourful and easy to work with on my page.

Here is a Step by Step on how I achieved the cut file look on my layout.

First I cut a shape which looks like half a heart and traced the shapes onto the paper.

Then I cut out the hearts. Save the cut out bits for later.

Then with a kraft knife I cut various pieces around the hearts and folded back paper.

I then adhered the vellum to the back of the pattern paper and also adhered the cut out hearts over the top of the cut out hearts.

I have used these products which are available in the shop here:

I also have this layout which I created using the Pinkfresh Studio range.

I hope you found my step by step useful and easy so you can create your own cut file look shapes on your layouts.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I do hope you can share all your creations with the Shop and Crop Team.
